Join us for: The Fundamentals of HR Law: What Business Owners Need to Know
We will explain the laws that govern the employment relationship, including employment standards and human rights. We will explain the employment standards, the duty to accommodate, and other fundamental aspects of the legal relationship. You will understand the laws that impact the employment relationship and the inter-relationship between them.
We will review the risks in the hiring process, how to impose discipline, the laws of dismissal, and the need for investigations. The most common mistakes are made at the beginning of the relationship, and we will explain what those are and how to avoid them. We will also explain how to respond to suspicions of misconduct, including allegations of harassment and sexual harassment, how to assess whether you can ?fire? someone and how to assess the entitlement to severance.
We will review best practices in the hiring process, strategic use of contracts, performance management, implementation of policies, discipline and dismissal. This will help you to reduce labour costs, minimize risk and maximize your rights as an employer.
