Smart Commute Markham, Richmond Hill (SCMRH) is a workplace program, coordinated by Metrolinx in partnership with the Markham and Richmond Hill Boards of Trades, and supported by the municipalities of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). The program promotes sustainable transportation options for employees such as carpooling, transit, walking, cycling, and alternative and flexible work arrangements.
Commuting options throughout the GTHA continue to evolve, due to improved infrastructure and accessible technology. To better deliver our services and focus on our custom Transportation Demand Management (TDM) projects, the SCMRH Workplace Program underwent a transition in 2016 to increase long lasting commuting behavioural changes.
